November 27, 2009 - I've
finally put up the revised HTML files of Sakura
and Snow, for those who prefer to click to specific chapters. (The
new chapters--the final battle and aftermath--start with chapter 19.)
November 14, 2009 - Sakura
and Snow is now available for download in various e-book formats,
in addition to the original PDF and Word doc release. Thanks, Amalthia!
November 1, 2009 - Thirteen
years. Almost 238,000 words. Sakura and
Snow is finally done.
December 27, 2008 - Updated
the translations page and the translation
links on individual stories.
December 25, 2008 - Guess
what? Guess what? New chapter of Sakura!
Yatta! (After fricking three years...geez.) See my current projects
page for news about where the story as a whole currently stands. Also,
I've posted a handful of other fics written over the last couple of
years that I just hadn't gotten around to putting up here: two ficbits,
"Inspiration" (Spirited
Away) and "Talks Too Much"
(TB/X, Subaru-centric); "Almost
Nobody," a story set ten years after the final battle and featuring
Keiichi and Yuka-chan (...who?); and "Why
Young Robots Shouldn't Play on the Information Superhighway,"
a charming tale of transforming robots, incestuous gay sex, and the
dangers of the Internet. (Symmetrical Docking!) Finally, I've updated
my email page to make it slightly easier to
get in touch with me, and I've posted a link to a new Chinese translation
of Sakura chapter 16, courtesy of Sunny, on both the translations
page and the main Sakura page.
June 4, 2006 - Did you miss me?
I missed you. ^_^ It's kind of a mixed bag of updates this time: one
Loveless fanfic ("Everything We
Touch, Changes"), focusing on Ritsuka's reaction to the infamous
ear-piercing scene; three short Weiss Kreuz
pieces that were originally supposed to be part of a 30_kisses
effort; and one crack- and innuendo-filled scriptfic, in which Weiss
Play D&D.(That's Dungeons & Dragons, for the geekery-deficient.
^_^) Plus an update to the projects page.
December 1, 2005 - New
chapter of "Sakura"! Booyah! Now you all can take a little
trip back in time to revisit Seishirou's rather scary childhood. I've
also posted another X fic that's been lurking in limbo for a while now:
"Ordinary," a story about
Saiki Daisuke and the roles of various people in the battle for the
future of the Earth. There's a new piece of art in the gallery--a
picture of Kanoe from chapter 15 of "Sakura"--as well as two
new translation links, all courtesy
of Ilaria Cariddi. Squee! The projects page
has also been updated, though I don't really have a lot to say there...still
trying to bash ahead on "Sakura," pretty much.
November 1, 2005 - Trying to finally
get myself out of my slump.... At any rate, there's finally a new Drift
of "Sakura." Yay! I've also posted "Mirrors,"
a short TB/X fic that I wrote quite a while ago and somehow never posted.
I have another fic or two and possibly some translation or gallery material
sitting around here, but in the interests of getting the site updated
tonight I'm going to hold off on searching for them. That's for the
next update, which shouldn't be too unbearably long in coming--I'm already
in beta with the next chapter of "Sakura." The only other
update of note, aside from the usual projects
update, is that I've revised the links between the Drifts and the main
text of "Sakura." You now have the option to "Skip to
the next chapter" directly from the warning pages, without having
to go back to the main index. Which is probably more trivia than you
needed to know. ^_^
October 20, 2004 - I've been out
of things here since the spring due to real-life issues: my father's
health broke down this year, and he finally passed away at the end of
August. I'm just starting to get on top of all the household stuff and
to recover from the emotional stresses, and to kinda sorta think about
writing again. It wasn't a completely barren summer, however, so herewith
are the fruits of my somewhat sporadic labors:
I've also updated the projects page (though
somewhat vaguely) and added a new piece of art to the gallery.
Finally, I changed the weblog link on my front page to point to my LiveJournal,
since that's where I'm posting these days. Thanks all for your patience;
I hope to be getting back into the writing and to be around here a bit
more frequently
April 19, 2004 - Not really an update
this time. I just wanted to let people know that I've finally fixed
the error in my mail form, so you all should
be able to reach me that way again. (I hadn't even realized it was messed
up until a reader found another email address and got through to tell
me about it. Thanks, Natalia. ^_^) Although while I was here I did also
update the current projects page.
January 23, 2004 - OMG AN UPDATE!!
*falls over* Yeah, only nine months after the last one. In any event,
here's what's new:
- "True Lovers," a
"Falling from the Moon"
side-story focusing on Alice and Rin. Cuteness and snowballs.
- "Warmth," a kind of Omi/Ken-ish
Weiss Kreuz one-shot, set before Aya joins the team. What's the meaning
of a touch?
- The second half (finally!) of the third "Sakura and Snow"
Drift. At last, the Taoist
sex you've been waiting for. (The link above leads to the beginning
of the Drift; if you've read the previously released version of the
first half and want to jump right to the new part, go here.)
I've also updated the gallery with
a new piece of art by Ilona, plus swept out my links
page and updated various ancillary pages, including current projects.
This site finally looks a bit less like a ghost town.
April 13, 2003 - Added links to
Vasiliki's Greek translations of "Purity"
and "Catch
Me" to the translation page and the story pages. Oh, and here.
^^ No new fic yet, sorry.
March 17, 2003 - Okay,
maybe I wasn't getting back into the swing of things then. Now, I might
be, but I hesitate to say for sure. In any case, the update: the first
half of the next Drift of "Sakura"
(yay!); "26," a sequel to "13,"
some new art on the gallery page,
and a not very forthcoming update to the current projects
page.
November 10, 2002 - Wow,
another update. I must be getting back into the swing of things. New
this time is "Crossing Over,"
a fanfic for the movie Spirited Away, and an accompanying kickass piece
of fanart by the redoubtable Kristin
Olson. Plus standard update to the current projects
page.
September 21, 2002 - After
a long hiatus, the author returns, this time with a couple of short
fics. "Forever Is in You"
features reflections by Lan from Clover, while "Return"
is another Sorata/Arashi story. I've also updated the gallery
with some fabulous new fan art--go check it out! Plus updates to the
awards, author's
bio, and current projects pages. I think
I've fallen behind on my translations
page; so if there's anybody out there who's done a translation of one
of my stories and doesn't see it on this page, please email me. Thanks!
December 25, 2001 - "Falling
from the Moon" is done. Done, I tell you! AHAHAHA! So go and
enjoy it--three chapters, an epilogue, and the concluding side story,
in which Issei and Jinpachi's relationship is finally resolved. Have
fun with the extras, too.
October 25, 2001 - Two new fics,
"Kekkai" and "Kekkai
Lite." The first is a somewhat intense piece about the fate
of Sunshine 60, inspired by the September 11 attack on New York City;
the second is only loosely related to the first, and is much lighter.
I desperately need to update my links page, but that's going to have
to wait a little longer. The projects page
*has* been updated, although there isn't a whole lot to report. Plus
there's two new pieces of art on the gallery
page.
August 8, 2001 - No new fic for
you yet, alas. I'm really sorry, but things are moving more slowly than
I'd hoped. What I do have for this update is mostly translation
links: Oui Apapa's Chinese translation of "Dream," Vasiliki's
Greek translation of "13," and Karura's French translation
of part 1 of "Wings." The projects
page has been updated, though not with much of substance. Oh, and there's
a new award. Yay! ^^
June 25, 2001 - Just a very small
update: there are new translation links
to Karura's French translation of "Little Green-eyes" and
Oui Apapa's Chinese translations of "13" and "Purity."
Oh, and a brief but happy update to the current
projects page.
June 4, 2001 - At last, another
fic update! "Falling" fans can rejoice: I've finally finished
chapter 15. As you can see on my
current projects page, I'm hoping to make
a serious push toward getting this story done this summer. I've also
done various house-cleaning chores, the most exciting of which is probably
the new translations page. To try to
help me keep track of who's translated which of my stories, I've gathered
them all in a list, as well as linking to each translation on the appropriate
story page on my site. I'm pretty sure that I've missed someone, so
if I have, please email me and bring me up-to-date. I've done a bit
of link-updating throughout the site as well, although I need to sit
down one weekend and really check all of them. Finally, there's a new
piece of art on the gallery page--a
piece by Hady in which Seishirou shows off his new and more fearsome
shikigami. ^_^
May 28, 2001 - Changed to the new
Good Fanfic webring code. I'm hoping to have an actual fic update before
too much longer....
April 1, 2001 - An update in under
a month! And it's not an April Fool's joke! All right, we have two new
fics up this time: "The Three Intimacies,"
featuring Sorata and Arashi, and "Little
Green-eyes," an original and largely spoiler-free Tokyo Babylon
fic. Have fun. ^^
March 5, 2001 - Ack, trying to remember
what I've updated when it's after midnight, I'm falling asleep, and
I may (or may not) have work tomorrow. Well, of course, there's the
latest chapter of "Sakura,"
which is finally up. I hope it's worth the wait. ^_^ I've also finally
gotten my act together and made an awards
page, since with last year's CLAMP Fanfiction Awards and the new one
from Shara I actually have enough to make a separate page worthwhile.
Current projects has been updated very minorly..and
I think that's it. (Hey, I just had an update a little over a week ago!
What do you expect?)
February 25, 2001 - An update of
the "I'm not dead!" variety, consisting of many long-overdue
tweakings. (If you've subscribed to my mailing list recently, and are
wondering why you didn't get a notification, sorry, but I only send
out mails for fic updates. ^_^) Put up a link to Hady's Chinese translations
and T-chan's Spanish translations on the "Broken
Worlds" page, and did some link pruning
in general. I *finally* put up Varlin's Christmas picture as well as
one of Ankoku-jin's at the gallery.
Removed the redundant Weiss Kreuz labels on the index
page (duh), and updated the current projects
page. And for anyone who's interested in this kind of thing, I've started
a weblog, which gets updated
a tiny bit more often than this does. ^^;;;
December 24, 2000 - Happy holidays,
everyone! Here are two new stories for you. (Unfortunately, neither
one is very appropriate to the season.) "13"
is a short, dark X fic, in which Subaru learns the hidden secret of
the Sakurazukamori, to his sorrow. For something completely different,
try "Youji's Omelette,"
a shamelessly plotless Weiss Kreuz lemon, featuring Youji and Ken engaged
in cooking and sex--mostly sex.I've also made a long-overdue update
to my gallery page, adding new art
by Cleric and Subi-chan. Yay! The current projects
page has been updated, and on my main page
I've finally broken up the list of single-part stories into sections,
since it was starting to get too cumbersome as one long list. I've also
changed the labeling on the blurbs page slightly,
making a probably unnecessary distinction between the shounen ai stories
that include adult chapters and the more straightforwardly yaoi stories.(That
should be enough for one update, ne? ^_^)
October 30, 2000
- Everyone, I would like to make a very strong request: Please DO NOT
post spoilers in my guestbook. (For those of you who might not be familiar
with the word, a "spoiler" is the announcement of a major plot point
of a series, generally a potentially traumatic one.) I realize that
everyone is very excited and distraught about a certain happening. So
am I. But my guestbook is NOT the place for it. I'm sure there are people
out there who haven't seen the most recent issue, and who have been
trying very hard to avoid finding out what happened until they *do*
see it. I'd be very upset if one of those people had her pleasure in
reading the series spoiled because she stumbled across the information
in my guestbook--which, as a part of my site, I do feel some responsibility
for, even though the thoughts and opinions posted on it are all other
people's, and which is the kind of place where one might not necessarily
be on guard against a spoiler. (And yes, I do assume that random people
read my guestbook, because I certainly read the guestbooks on other
sites.) While ordinarily I wouldn't even consider tampering with the
guestbook entries, currently I am deleting any entry that consists of
nothing but a spoiler, and ***ing out spoilers that appear in other
entries. Please spare me this extra work. If you want to email me and
vent about the December Asuka, I more than welcome your comments. Otherwise,
please keep it to the mailing lists. I really appreciate your understanding
in this. Thanks!
October 28, 2000 - Omigosh! A new
chapter of "Sakura"! Well, okay, technically it's half
a new chapter, but that's still better than nothing. I've also posted
a new Weiss Kreuz story, "Catch Me,"
which I refer to as my "Save Ken" story. It's a bit intense,
so read it at your own risk. I've updated the projects
page, and done the usual adding and subtracting of links.
I've also given Weiss Kreuz their own section on the blurbs
page.
August 27, 2000 - Restored the Good
Fanfic Webring, which has just been rendered undefunct. Yay! ^^ Oh,
and added a couple more favorite characers to the bio
page.
August 20, 2000 - For some reason,
I keep putting "July" instead of "August" on all
the pages that need redating. Guilty conscience? Naah.... In any event,
I have two new CLAMP fics posted, "Kiss
of Moonlight" and "Messages."
The first is a CardCaptor Sakura fic centered on Yue (you couldn't guess
from the title? -_^), and the second is based on the CLAMP School anime,
although it's set a few years afterward. I've updated the current
projects page as well, and I've taken the older entries from both
this page and the projects page and made separate archives for them.
I've also pruned a couple of links, most notably
the Good Fanfic Webring, which has now been closed down. It was a noble
effort, while it lasted. Finally, there's a new piece of fan art on
the gallery page.
June 12, 2000 - An almost monthly
update! A sign of things to come? Er, probably not, I'm afraid. There
is a fair bit of new stuff, though, including two Weiss Kreuz fanfics.
"Purity" is my reaction to
the highly ambiguous end of a WK drama CD; it's very short, but probably
requires familiarity with the source material to make much sense. "Sword
Dance" is a yaoi lemon wrapped up in a bit of character study,
and should be fairly comprehensible even if you know nothing at all
about Weiss. I've also updated my bio, to
better reflect my current obsessions, and I've put a new entry on the
current projects page. The links
page is mostly updated, and the links on the "Sakura"
page should also be fixed. And there's new silly stuff in the, um, silly
place....
I'm going to be going to both Anime Expo and Shoujocon this year. (Yes,
I'm insane, but you already knew that.) It looks like I'll be on the
fanfic panel at Shoujocon, so if you're there, stop by and say hi! It's
probably not very likely that I'll get another update out before I go
to AX at the end of the month, but depending on how various stories
go, I may try to squeeze one in between the two cons.
May 7, 2000 - ...and the promised
deadline escapes me yet again. Fortunately, this time I have a *real*
update, so with luck everyone will be somewhat appeased. The new chapter
of "Sakura" is *finally*
up. I hope you enjoy it! (And before you come and kill me for leaving
you with that ending, chapter 14 is about halfway through editing, and
it's my project for the next couple of weeks. No more promises for a
release date, though. I've learned my lesson at last.) I received a
fan art (wai!), so I made a gallery
page to display it. I've also updated the current projects
page. I know that there are broken or moved links on my links page,
but I just don't have time tonight to check and fix them all, so that'll
have to be the next update.
April 9, 2000 - Erm, what happened
to February?...what happened to *March*? <sigh> For everyone who's
been very patiently visiting my site over the past couple of months,
I'm so sorry not to have delivered the promised update. I'm still not
quite ready, but I thought I should at least say something, so here's
the news. I continue not to be dead. "Sakura" 13 is in prereading;
"Sakura" 14 is in edits. I've been doing a ton of writing,
mostly on bits and pieces of things that won't be ready to release for
ages, if ever, but I'm just about to regroup and refocus on the already
in-progress projects. I'll be rather surprised if I don't manage to
get *something* out this month, although knowing me it's still not beyond
the realm of possibility....
January 31, 2000 - This is essentially
an "I'm not dead" update. A couple of new links,
new code for the Anime Fanfic webring...I've been working on "Sakura,"
albeit extremely slowly. However, progress on it has picked up notably
over the last few days. I'm hoping to have a more substantial update
sometime in February.
December 26, 1999 - A day late,
but still in the spirit of Christmas...a little holiday surprise.
Also updated Sunsun's link on the main "Sakura"
page and made a few tweaks to my links page.
November 16, 1999 - Posted "Magician"
and did a couple of minor revisions to "After
Colony." Updated the links page and
current projects page.
October 30, 1999 - Moved the (Good)
Fanfiction Webring fragment to my main page, at the request of the webmistress.
October 14, 1999 - Added a couple
of pictures of Buddhist symbols to the dissertation
page that's linked from "Kanriki".
October 12, 1999 - Made a couple
of corrections to the author's note of "Wings: Kanriki," mostly
regarding future plans for the continuity. Meant to do it last night,
but the brain cell was decidedly crunchy from being up until midnight.
Also took the link to the CLAMP Links Guide down until the site comes
back.
October 11, 1999 - It must be smut
month at Firecat Fanfics, or something...the new "Sakura"
drift and the new "Wings"
side story have both been posted.
I fixed the link to Sunsun's Chinese translations, so that should be
accessible now. I've also clarified my policy on selecting links for
my links page, as well as doing the usual adding
and fixing dance. Plus the current projects
page has been updated again.
September 5, 1999 - The new chapter
of Falling from the Moon is up--finally!
(Although they still haven't quite made it to the moon....) I've also
posted a short, rather dark and random "Gundam Wing" reflection,
After Colony, in which a character
looks back on a very different ending to the TV series. Plus updated
links--including, on the main "Sakura"
page, a link to Tony-chan's Spanish translations! Also, I've updated
my current projects page for the first time
in a couple of months.
August 1, 1999 - Added the Announcement
mailing list form above.
July 25, 1999 - And I now actually
get around to *releasing* the new site. Well, vacations can do that
to you... I haven't actually added anything to the site since July 3.
For those of you who are just now visiting this page for the first time,
check out the previous update below.
July 3, 1999 - Finally, at long
last, the move is over and the page is updated! *gasp!* I'm very, very
sorry that it took so long, but I've learned my lesson: no more setting
deadlines for myself. It only guarantees that I'll be ridiculously late.
Anyway, you've probably already noticed the more obvious cosmetic changes,
but here's a complete list of what's new:
- Two new "Fushigi Yuugi" fics, The
Animal That Walks on Two Legs and Beasts.
I'm actually quite pleased with them, although they're a bit different
from my usual sort of thing. (I've pretty much shot my FY bolt with
these two, so you can probably expect me to be spending more time
with my old favorites, X and PSME.)
- Chapter 12 of "Sakura"--at
last! (The Drift still needs more editing, so in the interests of
getting this site updated I decided to just release this chapter for
now.)
- Check out the current projects page
for the latest word on what stories I've been working on.
- Due to growing confusion on the part of readers, I have a new archiving
policy for my stories. In brief, I'm requesting people to link
to the stories on this site whenever possible, rather than uploading
to their own pages--and in the case of the unfinished stories, "Sakura"
and "Falling," I am insisting on linkage. I will
not be granting permission for other people to host either of those
two stories until they're finished, except in exceptional circumstances.
My apologies to those of you who've been carrying"Sakura"
and "Falling" for a while now, but I'd very much appreciate
it if you could also comply with this policy.
- On a fluffier note, I have a guestbook now! Please sign
it, or take a look at what
others have said.
- I've also instituted an email form instead
of the old mailto:s in an effort to decrease spam. If it doesn't work
for some reason, I can be reached at n-chan @ firecat.net. My old
address at gti.net is still active as well. If you just want to comment
and don't have a question that needs answering, consider signing my
guestbook instead.
- The graphic design of these pages has been updated somewhat, and
I now have logos for all my multi-part stories, including the collaborations.
I finally got rid of the animated gif logos, having decided that they
didn't really add much but extra page-loading time. However, now I
seem to have gotten a little bit happy with the Javascript rollovers.
If the all the flashy things start to give you seizures, let me know.
^_^
- The links page has been updated and expanded
slightly. (It'll probably always be the section of this site that's
most in flux as other web sites come and go and as I find new things
to add to it.) I've joined a couple of web rings, but if you've gotten
here early I may not have been added to them yet.
- The counter is new, so it's been set back to zero. Sorry, Lynx users!
I can't use the shell script on this new account....
- Speaking of which, this site is now being hosted on Dreamhost,
a $9.95/month web hosting organization. So far I've been very pleased
with them; if you're looking to leave the free services, I highly
recommend checking them out.
- In the shameless self-promotion department, I've made a couple of
banners for linking to this site. Feel free
to use them or not, as you prefer.
- Oh, and if anyone actually found my hidden link...I've moved it.
It's still on the same page, though.
And I think that's actually all of it....
If you want to see the older updates, they're here.
